World travel is the gateway to life’s most memorable adventures. It’s a chance to learn more about life and yourself as well as explore some of the world’s cultures (the different ways cultures approach life is an inspiration). Perhaps you’ll choose to make South East Asia as your starting point by booking flights to Thailand, or head to South America to start your trip. All kinds of possibilities await you, but you must stay healthy and fit to make sure that you reap the very best rewards from the trip. Here are some tips on how stay healthy on a world travel adventure:

Observe A Balanced Diet

It all starts with a healthy diet, which means ensuring that you’re eating all the major food groups and getting your vitamins every day. If you don’t eat meat then it’s particularly important to keep track of what you’re eating. In places such as South East Asia the traditional cuisine does not include dairy, making it harder to come by those vital A and B vitamins. Be sure to have eggs, fish or dairy products in your daily diet. If you’re vegan then it may be best for you to vitamin supplements to avoid deficiencies.

Nourishing Your Body And Mind

Traveling is a great time to try new things, and a practice such as yoga can nourish your body and mind. From Thailand to Peru, there are yoga studios all over the world where you can meet like-minded people and keep both your body and your mind healthy. Why not visit an ashram in India, try tai-chi in the parks of China or take a capoeira course in Brazil?

Protect Yourself Against Illness

You won’t want illnesses to strike you down on your worldwide trip, so stay clued up on what the dangers are and how to avoid them. Check heath authority advice in your home country to find out what vaccinations you need. You may also need to take malaria pills if you’re traveling to a high risk area and take mosquito repellents along with you. To guard against stomach bugs, avoid any food that doesn’t look fresh and drink bottled water.

Give yourself the best chance of staying fit and healthy on your trip to enjoy it to the full. Do you have any additional tips for travelers who want to stay in good health?
