Although the above photo was taken at a Polish restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, it still gives you a delicious taste of Polish culture. The dish shown is from Krolewskie Jadlo Polish Restaurant (695 Manhattan Avenue) and is roasted hocks in beer served with mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and dill cucumber salad. According to Me So Hungry, the hock is enormous and features a nice amount of meat as well as bone, far and skin. Apparently “some parts tasted like roasted chicken, some like ham, some like pork shoulder…all very tender.”
